The Greek λέγω is a synthetic first-person verb encoding its subject; the Peshitta renders this analytically with the participle ܐܡܪ plus the explicit independent pronoun ܐܢܐ ('I say'), a normal Syriac periphrastic construction, while Latin retains the synthetic dico.

Greek and Syriac mark the dative/recipient with a single form; the Vulgate adds an editorial colon (token 3) introducing the direct discourse, a punctuational feature of the Clementine text without counterpart in the other witnesses.

Greek uses the relative ὃς with the modal particle ἂν plus negative μὴ ('whoever does not'); Syriac compresses this into ܕܟܠ ܕܠܐ ('everyone who does not'), and Latin into the single indefinite relative Quisquis with non, all three constructions being functionally equivalent conditional-relative clauses.

Greek παιδίον and Latin parvulus both denote 'little child'; the Syriac ܛܠܝܐ (root T-l-y) basically means 'young one/youth' and is the standard Peshitta equivalent, though its semantic range extends to 'lad/servant', a slightly broader cognate sense.

Greek emphatically negates with the double οὐ μὴ plus subjunctive (emphatic future denial); both Syriac (single ܠܐ) and Latin (single non) render this with a simple negation, losing the intensifying force of the Greek construction.
