Greek εἶπεν ('said') reuses the verb of saying, whereas the Peshitta (ܕܦܩܕ, root p-q-d) and Vulgate (præceperat) both render 'commanded/instructed'; the Syriac additionally attaches the object pronoun ܐܢܘܢ ('them'), supplying an explicit accusative that Greek leaves unexpressed.
