Greek lists three distinct locations linked by ἤ (villages, cities, fields); the Vulgate expands even further with vicos, villas, and civitates (an apparent doublet rendering of κώμας). The Peshitta compresses the series, retaining only ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ('cities') joined by waw to the preceding 'villages', omitting any equivalent for 'fields'.

Greek ἐτίθεσαν is a finite imperfect 'they were laying'; Syriac renders with the periphrastic participle ܣܝܡܝܢ ܗܘܘ to convey the same durative-iterative past aspect, while the Vulgate ponebant matches with a simple imperfect.

Greek παρεκάλουν is a simple imperfect 'they were begging'; the Peshitta again uses periphrasis ܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ (participle + enclitic) for the iterative past, the conjunction waw on ܘܒܥܝܢ corresponding to the Greek καί already aligned.

Greek ἵνα introduces the purpose/content clause; the Vulgate renders it with ut. The Syriac has no discrete conjunction here, the subordination being carried by the following ܕܐܦܢ ('that even if'), so the ἵνα-function is absorbed into the conditional particle.

Greek τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ ('of his garment') is rendered by Vulgate vestimenti ejus with separate possessive pronoun; Syriac ܕܠܒܘܫܗ fuses the genitive linker and the possessive suffix into a single inflected form, a normal Syriac economy of expression.

Greek ἐσῴζοντο (imperfect passive of σῴζω, 'were being saved/healed') is rendered by the Vulgate periphrastic salvi fiebant and the Syriac periphrastic ܡܬܐܣܝܢ ܗܘܘ ('were being healed'); the Syriac root th-a-s specifies 'heal' rather than the broader σῴζω semantic range of 'save/preserve/heal'.
