Greek and Latin use a conditional protasis with an indefinite pronoun (Εἴ τις / Si quis, 'if anyone'); the Peshitta employs a substantival relative construction ܡܢ ܕܐܝܬ ('whoever has'), recasting the conditional clause as a headless relative — semantically equivalent but syntactically distinct.

Greek ἔχει and Latin habet express possession with a single transitive verb; Syriac uses the existential particle ܐܝܬ with the dative ܠܗ ('there is to him'), the standard Semitic idiom for predicative possession, hence the difference in token count.

Greek ὦτα and Latin aures are plural ('ears'), whereas the Syriac ܐܕܢܐ is morphologically the singular/absolute form, a common Syriac idiom for paired body parts treated collectively.

Greek uses the complementary present infinitive ἀκούειν and Latin the gerund of purpose audiendi ('for hearing'); the Peshitta renders this with a finite subordinate clause ܕܢܫܡܥ ('that he may hear'), preferring a verbal clause to the infinitive/gerund construction.
