Greek and Latin order the temporal phrase as preposition + 'days' + numeral (μετὰ ἡμέρας ἕξ / post dies sex), whereas Syriac prefixes the conjunction-preposition ܘܒܬܪ to the verse opener and places the numeral before the noun (ܫܬܐ ܝܘܡܝܢ, 'six days'); the difference is purely idiomatic Semitic word order with no semantic change.

Greek τὸν Πέτρον and Latin Petrum transliterate the Greek surname, but the Peshitta preserves the original Aramaic ܟܐܦܐ (Kepha, 'rock'), the underlying name behind Πέτρος; this is a consistent Syriac retention rather than a translation of the Greek form.

Greek ἀναφέρει ('brings up') captures the ascent implied by the journey to a high mountain, the Syriac ܘܐܣܩ (root a-s-q, 'caused to go up') likewise carries the elative nuance, but the Latin ducit ('leads') is neutral and loses the upward sense; all three share the pronominal object (αὐτούς / ܐܢܘܢ / illos).

Greek εἰς ὄρος ὑψηλόν and Latin in montem excelsum use preposition + accusative noun + adjective; Syriac ܠܛܘܪܐ ܪܡܐ employs the prefixed lamadh and a postposed attributive adjective, an equivalent construction differing only in the Semitic adjectival syntax.

Greek glosses the privacy with two expressions, the adverbial phrase κατ᾽ ἰδίαν ('privately') plus μόνους ('alone'), and Latin matches with seorsum solos; the Syriac compresses both into the single reflexive ܒܠܚܘܕܝܗܘܢ ('by themselves'), an idiomatic contraction with no loss of meaning.

Greek expresses the transfiguration with conjunction + aorist passive μετεμορφώθη, Latin renders it periphrastically with transfiguratus est, and Syriac ܘܐܬܚܠܦ (Ethpaʿel of kh-l-p, 'was changed/transformed') uses a derived reflexive-passive stem; the Syriac root denotes 'change/exchange' rather than the morphological 'transformation' (μεταμορφόω) of the Greek, a lexically broader but functionally equivalent rendering.

Greek ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν and Latin coram ipsis both mean 'before/in the presence of them'; the Syriac ܠܥܢܝܗܘܢ (root e-n-y) is an idiomatic phrase 'in their sight/before their eyes', conveying the same locative-visual sense through a distinct lexeme.
