Greek imperfect ἔλεγον ('they were saying') conveys durative/iterative aspect; the Vulgate present dicunt and the Syriac participle ܘܐܡܪܝܢ (prefixed with the conjunction ܘ-, so it also covers the 'and') both render the action as a vivid present, losing the imperfective nuance.

The Vulgate represents the high colon of the Greek αὐτῷ· with an explicit punctuation token (the colon, idx 3), introducing direct speech; Greek and Syriac mark the dative/prepositional pronoun without separate punctuation.

The interrogative adjective ποίᾳ ('what kind of') is fused with the preposition in Syriac ܒܐܝܢܐ (ܒ- 'in' + the interrogative built on root a-y-n), so a single Syriac token covers both ἐν and ποίᾳ, whereas Greek and Vulgate (In qua) keep them as discrete words.

Greek ποιεῖς and Latin facis encode the 2nd-person subject morphologically; the Syriac uses an analytic construction, the participle ܥܒܕ followed by the independent pronoun ܐܢܬ ('you'), a normal Syriac periphrasis for the present tense.

The Vulgate inserts a question mark closing the first interrogative clause, dividing the double question typographically; neither the Greek nor the unpointed Syriac transmits such intermediate punctuation here.

Word-order divergence within the noun phrase: Greek places the demonstrative after the noun (τὴν ἐξουσίαν ταύτην), and Syriac likewise post-positions ܗܢܐ after ܫܘܠܛܢܐ, whereas the Vulgate pre-positions the demonstrative (hanc potestatem) per normal Latin syntax.

The neuter plural object 'these things' is expressed by Greek ταῦτα and Vulgate ista as separate words, but in Syriac it is fused into ܕܗܠܝܢ (the relative/conjunctive particle ܕ- prefixed to the demonstrative ܗܠܝܢ), absorbing also the ἵνα clause-marker.

Greek present subjunctive ποιῇς and Latin present subjunctive facias mark the purpose clause with mood; Syriac uses the imperfect ܬܥܒܕ, the standard way Syriac expresses a subordinate volitional/final clause, an aspectual rather than modal equivalence.

The Vulgate closes the second question with a terminal question mark; Greek encodes the interrogative within ποιῇς; (the high point) while the consonantal Syriac text carries no such terminal punctuation.
