The verb of the Greek clause (γένηται 'becomes tender') is rendered by the Peshitta with the verb ܕܪܟ ('grows/becomes soft') placed before its subject ܣܘܟܝܗ ('its branch'), whereas Greek and Latin keep subject (ὁ κλάδος αὐτῆς / ramus ejus) before the predicate. The Syriac fuses the predicate ἁπαλὸς γένηται into a single verb.

Greek expresses 'becomes tender' analytically with adjective ἁπαλός plus copula-like γένηται, mirrored by the Vulgate tener fuerit; the Peshitta collapses both into the single finite verb ܕܪܟ, a synthetic construction conveying the same maturation idea.

Greek γινώσκετε and Latin cognoscitis carry the 2nd-person plural within the verb form, whereas the Peshitta makes the subject explicit with the participle ܝܕܥܝܢ plus the independent pronoun ܐܢܬܘܢ ('you know'), the standard Syriac enclitic-pronoun construction for the present tense.

Greek and Latin both use a copular construction (ἐγγὺς...ἐστίν / in proximo sit) with the noun 'summer' (θέρος / æstas) as subject; the Peshitta employs the verb ܡܛܐ ('has arrived/drawn near') governing ܩܝܛܐ ('summer'), turning the adverbial predicate of nearness into a finite verb of arrival — semantically equivalent but syntactically distinct.

The Clementine Vulgate closes the verse with a colon, marking continuation into the following apodosis; neither the Greek full stop nor the Peshitta's unpunctuated text shares this editorial division.
