The Peshitta opens with the temporal/circumstantial particle ܟܕ ('when, while'), introducing the false testimony as a subordinate circumstantial clause. This framing element has no counterpart in either the Greek or the Latin, which begin directly with the adjective 'many'.

Greek κατ᾽ αὐτοῦ (preposition + genitive) and Latin adversus eum both render 'against him' as preposition plus pronoun, whereas Syriac compresses this into the single prepositional pronominal form ܥܠܘܗܝ ('against/upon him'), an idiomatic Syriac usage of ܥܠ with a suffixed pronoun.

Greek καί and Latin et coordinate the second clause with 'and/but'. The Peshitta omits the coordinating conjunction entirely, juxtaposing the clauses asyndetically, a common feature of Syriac narrative style.

Greek ἴσαι ('equal, consistent') and Syriac ܫܘܝܢ (root sh-w-y, 'to be equal/level') are close cognate equivalents, while the Vulgate convenientia ('agreeing, harmonious') shifts the nuance slightly from numerical/qualitative equality toward mutual concordance of the testimonies.

Greek uses article + noun (αἱ μαρτυρίαι, 'the testimonies') and Latin the bare plural testimonia, whereas the Peshitta marks possession explicitly with the suffixed ܣܗܕܘܬܗܘܢ ('their testimonies'), making the genitive relationship overt where the other traditions leave it implicit.
