Greek ἐποίησεν ('he made/appointed') and Latin fecit literally render 'made,' while the Peshitta uses ܓܒܐ (g-b-a, 'he chose/selected'); the Syriac root corresponds to Hebrew בָּחַר ('to choose') and reflects an interpretive rendering emphasising election rather than the Greek idiom of 'making' the Twelve. The single Syriac verb ܘܓܒܐ also absorbs the connective.

The clause οὓς καὶ ἀποστόλους ὠνόμασεν ('whom also he named apostles') is attested in the Greek (a reading supported by א B and adopted in NA28) but absent from both the Peshitta and the Clementine Vulgate, which here follow the shorter text-type. Its omission likely reflects the Western/Byzantine tradition underlying both versions rather than independent abridgement.
