Greek τίς ἐστιν combines interrogative pronoun and copula; the Peshitta renders the question with interrogative ܡܢ plus the demonstrative/copular ܗܝ ('who [is] she'), supplying the feminine pronoun as copula, while the Vulgate Quæ est matches the Greek closely with feminine interrogative and verb.

Greek marks the noun with the definite article ἡ μήτηρ; the Vulgate mater and the Peshitta ܐܡܝ (with the first-person suffix bound to the noun) lack an article, the Syriac fusing the possessive into a single inflected form.

The Peshitta supplies the explicit third-person plural pronoun ܐܢܘܢ ('they [are]') as a copular element governing the second clause; neither the Greek nor the Vulgate expresses a separate copula here, the verb being gapped from the first clause.

Greek marks the plural noun with article οἱ ἀδελφοί; the Vulgate fratres and the Peshitta ܐܚܝ omit any article, the Syriac again fusing the first-person plural possessive suffix directly onto the noun.
