The postpositive δέ has no counterpart in either the Syriac or the Latin, which express the connective force solely through the initial conjunction; its omission is a routine stylistic simplification in the versions.

Greek uses an articular substantival participle (οἱ ἰδόντες, 'those who saw'); Latin recasts this as a relative clause with a pluperfect (qui viderant); Syriac employs the demonstrative ܗܢܘܢ plus the relative-marked verb ܕܚܙܘ, a double-headed relative construction — semantically equivalent but syntactically distinct.

Greek ἐγένετο is aorist indicative ('it happened'); Latin renders it with the periphrastic pluperfect subjunctive factum esset, as required after qualiter in an indirect question; Syriac ܗܘܐ is a simple perfect, neutral as to mood.

Greek uses an articular present passive participle (τῷ δαιμονιζομένῳ, 'to the one being demon-possessed'); Latin expands into a relative clause with a noun-plus-verb idiom (qui dæmonium habuerat, 'who had had a demon'); Syriac ܠܗܘ ܕܫܐܕܘܗܝ literally 'to him whose demons [were]', a possessive relative phrasing.

Greek and Latin use the plain connective καί / et; Syriac strengthens it to ܘܐܦ ('and also'), an emphatic additive nuance not explicit in the other two witnesses.
