The Peshitta condenses the Greek present-tense προσκαλεῖται ('he summons') and the conjunction into a single waw-prefixed perfect ܘܩܪܐ ('and he called'), collapsing the historic present into narrative past; the Vulgate likewise renders with the perfect vocavit, both flattening Mark's vivid praesens historicum.

The Vulgate inserts a colon before et, dividing the clause with punctuation absent from both Greek and Syriac; the Greek καί here joins the two finite verbs, a connective which the Peshitta absorbs into the verbal prefix of ܘܫܪܝ.

Greek and Latin use a bare complementary infinitive (ἀποστέλλειν / mittere) governed by 'began', whereas Syriac employs a finite subordinate clause ܕܢܫܕܪ ('that he should send'), a typical Syriac construction substituting a d-prefixed imperfect for the Greek infinitive.

The Greek distributive δύο δύο ('two by two') is rendered idiomatically by reduplication in Syriac ܬܪܝܢ ܬܪܝܢ, faithfully preserving the Semitic distributive pattern; the Vulgate renders the same sense with the single distributive numeral binos, the standard Latin lexicalisation of pairing.

Greek expresses the object of authority with an articular genitive (τῶν πνευμάτων τῶν ἀκαθάρτων, 'of the unclean spirits'), matched syntactically by the Latin genitive spirituum immundorum; the Peshitta instead governs the noun with the preposition ܥܠ ('over') plus ܪܘܚܐ ܛܢܦܬܐ, a more explicit prepositional construction expressing dominion.

The Peshitta appends the relative clause ܕܢܦܩܘܢ ('that they should go out / be cast out'), an explanatory expansion specifying the purpose of the authority over unclean spirits; neither the Greek NA28 nor the Vulgate transmit this clause, which anticipates the exorcistic outcome of the apostolic mission (cf. Mark 6:13).
