Mark 3 : 12

The Clementine Vulgate carries over the demons' confession 'Tu es Filius Dei' ('You are the Son of God') into this verse, reflecting versification differences whereby the editions split Mark 3:11–12 differently. Neither the Greek NA28 nor the Peshitta transmit this clause at this point in the verse, having concluded it previously.

Greek πολλά ('many things', adverbial accusative neuter plural) functions intensively with the verb of rebuking; the Vulgate vehementer ('vehemently') renders this adverbial force directly, while the Peshitta ܣܓܝ ('much/greatly') likewise captures intensity rather than plurality — all three converge in sense though they differ in lexical category.

Greek expresses the negative purpose with the conjunction ἵνα plus μή ('so that not'); the Peshitta compresses this into the single negative-purpose particle ܕܠܐ ('that...not'), and the Vulgate uses the single conjunction ne — both versions economise the two-word Greek construction into one.

Greek employs a periphrastic idiom φανερὸν ποιήσωσιν ('make him known', adjective + verb 'to make') with a separate object pronoun αὐτόν; the Peshitta condenses the whole into the single inflected verb ܢܓܠܘܢܝܗܝ ('that they should reveal him', with suffixed object pronoun), while the Vulgate manifestarent illum uses a single verb plus object pronoun — three distinct expressions of the same idea of disclosure.
