Greek πολλὰ ἐπετίμα ('much/sternly He was rebuking') uses an adverbial accusative with imperfect tense; Peshitta ܘܣܓܝ ܟܐܐ ܗܘܐ ('and much He was rebuking') employs a periphrastic construction with the participle; Vulgate vehementer comminabatur ('vehemently He was threatening') intensifies with an adverb and shifts the verb to 'threaten' rather than 'rebuke'—semantically equivalent but lexically distinct.

Greek uses a double accusative construction with ποιέω (αὐτὸν φανερὸν ποιήσωσιν, 'make Him manifest'); Peshitta employs a single causative verb ܢܓܠܘܢܝܗܝ ('reveal Him'); Vulgate uses manifestarent illum ('make manifest Him'), mirroring the Greek structure. All three express the same prohibition against revealing Jesus' identity, but through different syntactic strategies.
