Greek deploys an aorist deponent participle ἐμβριμησάμενος ('having sternly charged') governing a dative αὐτῷ, while Latin renders it with a periphrastic perfect comminatus est ei. The Syriac compresses the verb and pronoun into ܘܟܐܐ ܒܗ, where the prefixed conjunction on the verb (already aligned above) carries the coordinating force; the verbal idea is otherwise semantically equivalent.

The Markan signature adverb εὐθύς ('immediately') is rendered by Latin enclitic -que appended to statim (statimque). The Peshitta omits any temporal adverb here, a common Syriac tendency to drop Mark's pervasive εὐθύς when it adds little narrative force.
