All three name the subject Jesus, but the Greek retains the article ὁ Ἰησοῦς and places the name after the participle, the Peshitta fronts ܝܫܘܥ before its connective and verb, and the Vulgate places Jesus after the verb videret; these are positional/articular differences only.

Greek expresses indignation with a single finite verb ἠγανάκτησεν; the Peshitta uses the idiomatic impersonal construction ܘܐܬܒܐܫ ܠܗ ('it was evil/grievous to him'), and the Vulgate employs the two-word phrase indigne tulit ('he took it ill'). All convey indignation but through differing lexical-syntactic strategies.

All attest the dative/object pronoun 'to them' (αὐτοῖς / ܠܗܘܢ / illis); the Vulgate adds an explicit colon introducing direct speech, a punctuation feature absent from the unpointed Greek and Syriac base texts.

The object pronoun 'them' (αὐτά / ܐܢܘܢ / eos) is uniformly attested; the Vulgate appends a colon closing this clause and introducing the explanatory sentence, a scribal punctuation choice without textual basis in the Greek or Syriac.

Greek τῶν γὰρ τοιούτων uses a compact genitive demonstrative ('for of such ones'), and the Vulgate matches with talium enim; the Peshitta expands this into a fuller relative-comparative construction ܕܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܝܟ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ('for of those who are like these'), adding a resumptive pronoun and explicit comparative — semantically equivalent but markedly periphrastic.
