Greek substantivises the infinitive with the neuter article (τὸ ἀγαπᾶν, 'the loving'); the Vulgate renders it with a final/explicative clause ut diligatur (passive subjunctive). The Peshitta condenses the construction into a single inflected form ܘܕܢܪܚܡܝܘܗܝ ('and that one should love him'), an active subjunctive bearing the 3ms object suffix.

The Greek object pronoun αὐτόν ('Him') is matched semantically; but the Peshitta introduces an explicit indefinite subject ܐܢܫ ('one, a person'), supplying a generic agent absent in both Greek and Latin, which leave the verb impersonal.

All three render 'and with all the understanding'; the Greek σύνεσις and Latin intellectus denote discursive comprehension, while the Syriac ܪܥܝܢܐ (root r-e-n) connotes mind/reasoning more broadly. The lexical fields overlap but are not exact synonyms.

Greek again uses the articular infinitive (τὸ ἀγαπᾶν); Latin uses the bare infinitive diligere, dropping the explicative ut construction it employed earlier. The Peshitta ܘܕܢܪܚܡ ('and that one should love') maintains its subjunctive idiom consistently.

Greek θυσιῶν and Latin sacrificiis are explicit plural nouns ('sacrifices'); the Peshitta encloses 'sacrifices' within the single conjoined form ܘܕܒܚܐ (root b-kh-a, 'and sacrifice/altar-offering'), treating burnt-offerings and sacrifices as a tightly bound pair without a separate definite article.
