The Greek and Latin place the verb of sending first (ἀπέστειλεν / misit), while the Syriac ܘܫܕܪ prefixes the conjunction waw directly to the verb, fusing the 'and' of the Greek καί into the verbal form — a normal Syriac word-formation pattern rather than a semantic divergence.

All three attest 'another servant' (δοῦλον / ܥܒܕܐ / servum), but the Syriac inverts the adjective–noun order relative to the Greek, placing the noun ܥܒܕܐ before the attributive ܐܚܪܢܐ in accordance with normal Semitic syntax; the Latin adds an explicit colon (token 7) marking the narrative break.

The Greek crasis κἀκεῖνον ('and that one too') is rendered analytically in Syriac by the emphatic pair ܘܐܦ ܠܗܘ ('and even him') and in Latin by et illum, both expanding the compressed Greek form into discrete particles without semantic change.

Greek λιθοβολήσαντες ('having stoned') and Syriac ܪܓܡܘܗܝ ('they stoned him', root r-g-m) both preserve the act of stoning, but the Vulgate omits any reference to stoning here, likely a harmonisation away from the parallel and a conflation of the assault into the head-wounding clause.

The rare Greek verb ἐκεφαλίωσαν (κεφαλαιόω, 'to strike on the head', a NT hapax) is matched by Syriac ܘܨܠܦܘܗܝ (ts-l-p, 'they wounded/cleft him') and by the Latin periphrasis in capite vulneraverunt ('they wounded in the head'); the Latin unpacks the single Greek verb into a prepositional phrase plus verb.

Greek καὶ ἀπέστειλαν ('and they sent [him] away') and Syriac ܘܫܕܪܘܗܝ (root sh-d-r, 'and they sent him away') both retain the dismissal of the servant, whereas the Latin et (token 13) carries only the connective, having dropped the verb of sending — a minor Latin compression.
