Greek expresses the negative purpose clause with ἵνα μή ('that ... not'); the Peshitta compresses this into the single negative particle ܕܠܐ ('that not'); the Vulgate splits the elements with ut ... non straddling the intervening hieme. All three convey the same final-negative construction with differing degrees of analyticity.

All three use a verb of becoming/happening (γένηται aorist subjunctive, ܢܗܘܐ imperfect, fiant present subjunctive). The Vulgate fiant is plural, agreeing with an implied plural subject (cf. its omission of an explicit 'flight'), whereas Greek and Syriac are singular agreeing with the explicit noun 'flight'.

Greek supplies the articular noun phrase ἡ φυγὴ ὑμῶν ('your flight') as the explicit subject; the Peshitta renders this with a single noun bearing the 2nd-plural possessive suffix ܥܪܘܩܝܟܘܢ ('your flight'). The Clementine Vulgate omits any noun for 'flight' entirely, leaving fiant subjectless and forcing the reader to supply 'these things' from context — a notable Latin abridgement of the verse.

Greek χειμῶνος is a genitive of time ('in winter'); the Peshitta ܒܣܬܘܐ uses the preposition beth ('in winter'); the Vulgate hieme is an ablative of time. The three idioms for temporal circumstance are functionally equivalent, but the Vulgate fronts the word before the verb, a word-order shift relative to the Greek's clause-final placement.
