Greek has articular noun ἡ ἐπιγραφή ('the inscription'), and the Vulgate renders titulus; the Peshitta lacks a distinct lexeme for the inscription itself, instead folding the concept into the verbal phrase ܘܟܬܝܒܐ ܗܘܬ ('and it was written') and the periphrasis ܒܟܬܒܐ ܗܢܐ ('in this writing').

The Greek τῆς αἰτίας ('of the accusation/charge') and Latin causæ render the formal legal charge; the Syriac ܥܠܬܐ ('cause, reason'; root e-l-th, cognate with Hebrew עִלָּה) is semantically close but carries a broader causal nuance rather than a strictly forensic one.

Greek αὐτοῦ and Latin ejus are simple possessive pronouns ('his'); the Syriac ܕܡܘܬܗ literally means 'of his death' (root m-w-th), making explicit the capital nature of the charge that the Greek and Latin leave implicit, an interpretive expansion.

Greek uses the perfect passive participle ἐπιγεγραμμένη and Latin the perfect passive participle inscriptus, both periphrastic with the imperfect copula; the Peshitta employs a single passive participle ܘܟܬܝܒܐ joined to ܗܘܬ at the head of the clause (root k-th-b), a construction-level difference in arranging the same periphrastic perfect.

The Peshitta adds an explicit phrase ܒܟܬܒܐ ܗܢܐ ('in this writing/document'; root k-th-b) introducing the quoted titulus, a clarifying expansion with no counterpart in the Greek NA28 or the Vulgate, which proceed directly to the inscription's content.

The Greek articular subject ὁ ('the') and the Syriac demonstrative/copular pronoun ܗܘ both mark the predicate nominative of the titulus; the Vulgate omits any such marker, rendering simply Rex Judæorum without an article, since Latin lacks the definite article altogether.
