Greek εὐθύς ('immediately') and Latin statim stand later in the clause, whereas the Syriac ܘܡܚܕܐ ('and at once', root kh-d-a) is fronted and bound to the opening conjunction, a characteristic Markan-Syriac placement of the immediacy adverb at the head of the sentence.

Greek expresses 'his report' with article + noun + genitive pronoun (ἡ ἀκοὴ αὐτοῦ) and Latin with noun + possessive (rumor ejus), whereas the Syriac ܛܒܗ (root T-b-h) encodes the third-person possessive suffix synthetically within a single word, a typical Semitic morphological compression.

Greek alone carries the additional adverb πανταχοῦ ('everywhere'), reinforcing εὐθύς πανταχοῦ; neither the Vulgate nor the Peshitta render a separate term for universal extent, the notion being absorbed into the following 'whole region' phrase.

Greek uses εἰς + ὅλην τὴν περίχωρον ('into the whole surrounding region') and Latin in omnem regionem; the Syriac ܒܟܠܗ ܐܬܪܐ ('in all the place/region', roots k-w-l and a-th-r) employs the locative preposition beth with a synthetic 'all-its' suffix and the neutral term ܐܬܪܐ rather than the technical 'surrounding district', a minor lexical and syntactic simplification.
