Greek ἐναγκαλισάμενος ('having taken in [his] arms') is a single denominative participle, and the Vulgate renders it likewise with one participle (complexans). The Peshitta unpacks the same gesture analytically as ܘܫܩܠ ... ܥܠ ܕܪܥܘܗܝ ('and he took [them] upon his arms'), explicitly naming the arms — a typical Syriac periphrastic expansion of a compound Greek verb.

The benediction clause appears last in both the Peshitta (ܘܒܪܟ ܐܢܘܢ) and the Vulgate (benedicebat eos), whereas the Greek κατευλόγει precedes the participial laying-on-of-hands clause. Both versions reorder the verb of blessing to the end, and the Peshitta supplies an explicit pronominal object ('them') matching the Latin eos against the intransitive Greek imperfect.

Greek uses the present participle τιθείς ('laying'); the Vulgate matches with the participle imponens preceded by the connective et, while the Peshitta employs a finite coordinated verb ܘܣܡ ('and he placed'). The Syriac thus prefers parataxis where Greek subordinates the action participially.

Greek and Latin use the plural (τὰς χεῖρας / manus, 'the hands'); the Peshitta has the singular ܐܝܕܗ ('his hand'), a common Syriac idiom in which the singular of paired body parts stands collectively for the action of both.
