Greek employs the participle Ἀποκριθεὶς with the connective δέ ('answering, now'), a Septuagintalism. Both Peshitta ܥܢܐ and Vulgate Respondens render the participle finitely/verbally but drop the discourse particle δέ, which has no natural equivalent in either target language.
