Greek and Syriac both place the postpositive conjunction (δέ / ܕܝܢ) after the compound subject 'the chief priests' (ἀρχιερεῖς / ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ), the Syriac rendering the title with the construct chain rabbay kahnē. The Vulgate compresses the title to a single noun Pontifices and the conjunction autem follows as expected; all three are syntactically equivalent.

Greek ἵνα and Latin ut both introduce an explicit purpose clause governing the subjunctive verb; the Syriac dispenses with a separate final particle and conveys purpose through the imperfect ܢܫܪܐ ('that he might release') prefixed directly, a normal Syriac economy.

The comparative adverb μᾶλλον / magis ('rather, instead') stands inside the purpose clause in Greek and Latin, whereas the Syriac ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ('the more, excessively') is fronted before the main verb ܚܦܛܘ, modifying the act of incitement rather than the release. The displacement subtly shifts the emphasis but preserves the sense.
