Greek uses the aorist passive participle πορευθεῖσα ('having gone'), and Syriac ܐܙܠܬ is a finite perfect ('she went'); the Vulgate vadens employs a present participle. All three express the antecedent action of departure, but Latin's present-tense form and Syriac's finite verb diverge from the Greek aorist participial circumstance.

Greek expresses 'those who had been with him' via a substantival participial phrase (μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ γενομένοις) governed by the article in token 3, while Syriac uses a relative clause ܕܥܡܗ ܗܘܘ ('who were with him') and Latin a full relative clause qui cum eo fuerant; the constructions are semantically equivalent but syntactically distinct, and Greek's γενομένοις ('having become/been') has no separate lexical counterpart in the other versions, being absorbed into the relative verb.

Greek κλαίουσιν and Latin flentibus are participles paralleling 'mourning'; in Syriac the conjunction and verb 'weeping' are fused into the single token ܘܒܟܝܢ, which therefore carries both the coordinating waw and the participial verb shared with the preceding alignment group.
