The same Syriac token serves the conjunction of the previous group.

Greek λέγει is historic present ('he says'); the Peshitta ܘܐܡܪ and Latin dixit both render it as past/aorist, a routine tense-levelling. The Vulgate colon (token 5) belongs to this group as the speech-introduction marker.

Greek βασανίσῃς and Latin torqueas denote 'torment/torture'; the Syriac ܬܫܢܩܢܝ (root sh-n-q, cognate with Arabic خَنَقَ 'to strangle/choke') carries a slightly more physical nuance of anguish, though functionally equivalent. The Syriac form incorporates the first-person object suffix grouped above.
