Both Greek (καί) and Vulgate (Et) open with the connective conjunction; the Peshitta omits the introductory copula entirely, beginning paratactically with the verb ܐܡܪ, a stylistic feature of Syriac narrative which does not require an opening conjunction here.

Greek ἔλεγεν and Latin dicebat are both imperfect, conveying durative/iterative speech ('he kept saying'); the Peshitta ܐܡܪ is a simple perfect, flattening the aspectual nuance to a punctual 'he said'.

Greek ἀθετεῖτε ('you set aside, nullify') is rendered analytically: the Peshitta uses participle ܛܠܡܝܢ plus explicit pronoun ܐܢܬܘܢ ('you do injustice to / reject'), drawing on the root ṭ-l-m connoting wronging or oppressing, while the Vulgate uses the periphrasis irritum facitis ('you make void'). All converge on the sense of annulment, but the Syriac introduces a connotation of injustice absent from the Greek and Latin.

Greek στήσητε ('that you may establish/maintain', from ἵστημι) and Latin servetis ('that you may keep') stand at clause-end, while the Syriac fuses the conjunction and verb into ܕܬܩܝܡܘܢ (root q-m, 'establish') in clause-initial position, reflecting the verb-first tendency of Syriac syntax.
