Greek φέρουσιν ('they bring/lead') is in the historic present, as is the Peshitta verb ܘܐܝܬܝܘܗܝ ('and they brought it'), which carries an enclitic object suffix ('it'); the Vulgate normalises with the perfect duxerunt ('they led'). Note that the Peshitta fuses the conjunction and verb into a single form, here grouped with the initial καί/Et.

The Clementine Vulgate inserts editorial punctuation (a colon) after Jesum, marking the clause boundary before the second main verb; this has no counterpart in the Greek or Syriac text-stream and is purely a feature of the Latin critical edition.

Greek ἐπιβάλλουσιν and Latin imponunt are both present-tense ('they cast/lay upon'), preserving the vivid historic present; the Peshitta ܘܐܪܡܝܘ ('and they threw') uses a perfect-tense form fused with the conjunction, here shared with the preceding καί/et group.

Greek ἐκάθισεν ('he sat') and Latin sedit denote sitting/mounting, while the Peshitta ܘܪܟܒ (root r-k-b, 'and he rode/mounted') is more specific, naming the act of mounting the animal; this is a lexical-semantic shift, the Syriac form again fusing the conjunction into the verb shared with the preceding καί/et.

The Peshitta supplies an explicit subject ܝܫܘܥ ('Jesus') as the agent of the mounting, clarifying the otherwise unexpressed third-person subject; neither the Greek nor the Vulgate repeats the name here, leaving it to be inferred from context.
