Greek ὅταν ('whenever') introduces a temporal clause with iterative nuance, while Latin cum + subjunctive and the Syriac ܟܕ (suffixed within ܘܟܕ) render a plainer 'when'-clause; the Syriac conjunction is fused with the preceding waw, so a single token carries both the connective and temporal force.

All three express 'when evening came': Greek places adverb ὀψέ before the verb ἐγένετο, Syriac inverts to verb-then-noun (ܗܘܐ ܪܡܫܐ), and Latin expands the copula into the periphrastic facta esset (perfect subjunctive of fio); the differing sequences and the Latin two-word verb phrase are stylistic rather than semantic.

Greek ἐξεπορεύοντο and Syriac ܢܦܩܘ are third-person plural ('they were going out'), whereas the Vulgate egrediebatur is singular ('he was going out'); the Latin reflects a variant reading focusing on Jesus alone rather than the disciples as a group.

Greek uses the single adverb ἔξω governing the genitive, while Syriac employs the adverb ܠܒܪ ('outside') followed by the preposition ܡܢ ('from'), and Latin renders only the simple preposition de; the Syriac doubled construction is idiomatic for motion 'out from'.
