Greek and Latin open with the connective καί / Et ('and'), a paratactic Markan opener. The Peshitta instead uses the postpositive particle ܕܝܢ (token 1, 'but/now'), which it places after the subject — a stylistic adjustment to Syriac discourse structure rather than a semantic change.

The Peshitta's postpositive ܕܝܢ ('but/now') corresponds functionally to the initial conjunction attested by the Greek καί and Latin Et; it is grouped here as the Syriac equivalent of that connective, displaced after the subject per Syriac syntax.

Greek and Latin preserve the Semitic-flavoured pleonastic participle ἀποκριθεὶς / respondens ('answering'), reflecting the Hebraic 'answered and said' idiom. The Peshitta omits this participle entirely, rendering only the finite verb of speaking — a frequent Syriac simplification of the doubled verb construction.

The Vulgate inserts omnes ('all'), with no counterpart in either the Greek (ταύτας τὰς μεγάλας οἰκοδομάς) or the Syriac. This is a Latin amplification heightening the totality of the temple buildings; cf. the synoptic parallel Matt 24:1–2 where the disciples display 'all' the buildings.

Greek ὧδε ('here') and its Syriac equivalent ܗܪܟܐ are both present, but the Vulgate omits any locative adverb, dropping the deictic 'here' from relinquetur lapis super lapidem. The Latin tradition thereby loses the emphasis on the immediate temple location.

Greek introduces the final clause with relative ὃς plus the double negative οὐ μή; Latin matches with relative qui non, while Syriac fuses the relative and negative into the single particle ܕܠܐ ('that not'). The Syriac construction is semantically equivalent but morphologically compresses the relative-plus-negation into one form.

Greek καταλυθῇ ('be thrown/torn down', from καταλύω) and Latin destruatur ('be destroyed') denote demolition. The Syriac ܡܣܬܬܪܐ derives from a root of overturning/dismantling and renders the same idea, though its semantic field of 'undoing' is slightly broader than the strict architectural 'throw down' of the Greek.
