Greek uses the single adjective ἀπόδημος ('away on a journey'); Latin renders periphrastically with adverb + participle peregre profectus ('having set out abroad'); Syriac employs the finite verb ܕܚܙܩ (root kh-z-q, 'who departed/girded for travel'). All three express the act of journeying abroad but differ in syntactic class.

Greek and Latin use a participle/finite verb with article + possessive (τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ / domum suam); Syriac compresses to ܘܫܒܩ ܒܝܬܗ ('and left his house'), with the possessive expressed by the pronominal suffix and no separate article. The coordinating ܘ ('and') in Syriac also restructures the participial chain into coordinated finite verbs.

Greek καί and Latin et coordinate the two clauses; Syriac instead carries coordination via the prefixed conjunctions on its verbs (ܘܫܒܩ, ܘܝܗܒ), so no independent conjunction token appears here.

Greek and Latin place 'to his servants' (τοῖς δούλοις αὐτοῦ / servis suis) before the object 'authority'; Syriac ܠܥܒܕܘܗܝ follows the object ܫܘܠܛܢܐ, reflecting a word-order inversion of indirect object and direct object within the clause.

Greek ἑκάστῳ and Latin cujusque render the distributive 'to each one' with a single lexeme; Syriac expresses distributivity by reduplication ܠܐܢܫ ܐܢܫ ('to man, man' = 'to each individual'), a typical Semitic idiom for distribution that has no morphological parallel in Greek or Latin.

Greek καί and Latin et provide an explicit conjunction before the doorkeeper clause; Syriac again absorbs the coordination into the prefixed ܘ on ܘܠܬܪܥܐ, so no separate conjunction token is present.

Greek γρηγορῇ and Latin vigilet express 'that he keep watch' with a single subjunctive verb; Syriac uses a periphrastic construction ܕܢܗܘܐ ܥܝܪ ('that he be watchful', copula h-w-a + adjective e-y-r), splitting the notion into auxiliary plus predicate adjective — a common Syriac strategy for rendering durative or stative verbal ideas.
