The Greek purpose clause ἵνα ... προσκαρτερῇ ('that [a boat] should wait upon') and the Latin ut ... deserviret are matched by the Syriac ܕܢܩܪܒܘܢ (root q-r-b, 'that they should bring near'); the Syriac substitutes a verb of 'bringing the boat near' for the Greek/Latin notion of the boat 'attending/serving,' a lexical and conceptual reformulation.

Greek θλίβωσιν and Latin comprimerent denote 'crush/press,' while Syriac ܢܚܒܨܘܢܝܗܝ ('that they crowd/press him') incorporates the 3ms object suffix directly into the verb; the Greek and Latin instead express the object 'him' as a separate accusative pronoun.

The accusative object pronoun αὐτόν (Greek) and eum (Latin) stand as discrete words, whereas the Syriac has already absorbed this object into the verbal suffix of ܢܚܒܨܘܢܝܗܝ, so no separate Syriac token corresponds here.

The Vulgate alone marks a colon (':') at the verse's end, anticipating direct speech to follow; neither the Greek punctuation (a full stop after αὐτόν) nor the unpunctuated Syriac transmits this discourse-introducing mark.
