Greek ἀφίετε and Latin dimittitis encode the 2nd-person-plural subject within the verb morphology, whereas Syriac employs the participle ܫܒܩܝܢ with the explicit independent pronoun ܐܢܬܘܢ, a periphrastic present construction characteristic of Syriac that supplies the subject pronoun overtly.

Greek οὐδὲν is an inherently negative pronoun ('nothing') reinforcing the verbal negation, while the Peshitta ܡܕܡ and Latin quidquam are indefinite ('anything') depending on the prior negative to yield the sense — a syntactic difference in how the double negation is distributed.

Greek uses the aorist infinitive ποιῆσαι and Latin the present infinitive facere as complements of the verb of permitting, whereas Syriac renders the complement with a finite imperfect ܕܢܥܒܕ ('that he should do'), a subordinated subjunctive-like clause rather than an infinitive.

For 'his mother' Greek again uses the full article-noun-pronoun chain (τῇ μητρί αὐτοῦ) while Syriac compresses to the single suffixed form ܠܐܡܗ; the Vulgate omits the possessive entirely (matri), letting the earlier suo govern both parents by ellipsis.
