Greek (πρὸς αὐτόν) and Latin (ad eum) render the prepositional phrase analytically with a separate preposition and pronoun; Syriac ܠܘܬܗ synthesises preposition plus pronominal suffix into one word, a typical Semitic construction conveying the identical sense 'to him'.

Greek marks the subject with the article (οἱ Φαρισαῖοι); Syriac ܦܪܝܫܐ and Latin pharisæi lack a definite article (Syriac having no article and Latin none morphologically), yet all three denote the determinate group 'the Pharisees'.

Greek τινες and Latin quidam supply the indefinite quantifier 'some/certain'; the Peshitta has no separate word for this, leaving the partitive sense implicit in the bare plural ܘܣܦܪܐ ('and scribes'), a frequent Syriac economy.

Greek (τῶν γραμματέων) and Latin (de scribis) express the partitive with article/preposition plus genitive or ablative; Syriac ܘܣܦܪܐ is the simple coordinated plural 'and the scribes', without the partitive marking present in the other two witnesses.

Greek ἐλθόντες and Latin venientes are circumstantial participles ('having come / coming'); Syriac ܕܐܬܘ uses a relative particle plus finite perfect verb ('who came'), recasting the participial phrase as a relative clause while preserving the sense.

Greek (Ἱεροσολύμων) and Latin (Jerosolymis) transmit the Hellenised toponym 'Jerusalem' in oblique case; Syriac ܐܘܪܫܠܡ preserves the Semitic form closer to Hebrew Yerushalayim, reflecting independent indigenous orthography of the place-name.
