Greek φέρουσιν αὐτόν ('they bring him') and Latin perducunt illum render verb-plus-pronoun separately; Syriac ܘܐܝܬܝܘܗܝ fuses the conjunction, verb (root y-th-y, 'to bring') and the 3ms object suffix into a single inflected form, a typical Aramaic synthetic construction.

Greek marks direction with the preposition ἐπί plus the accusative article τόν; the Vulgate uses only the preposition in; the Peshitta expresses goal through the prefixed lamadh on ܠܓܓܘܠܬܐ and so attests no separate token here.

The toponym Golgotha is transliterated in all three; the Peshitta form ܠܓܓܘܠܬܐ (root g-g-l, cf. Hebrew גָּלַל 'to roll') carries the directional lamadh prefix and reflects the underlying Aramaic word for 'skull' more transparently than the Greek and Latin transliterations.

Greek ὅ ἐστιν and Latin quod est use a relative pronoun plus copula to introduce the gloss; Syriac collapses this into the single relative-prefixed verb ܕܡܬܦܫܩܐ (root p-sh-q, 'to interpret'), needing no separate copula owing to the participial syntax.
