Peshitta uses finite verb ܝܠܦ ('he learned') without explicitly naming the centurion as source, creating a more compressed construction that assumes the centurion from context.

Greek πτῶμα (literally 'fallen thing, corpse') and Latin corpus ('body') are neutral terms; Syriac ܦܓܪܗ ('his body') adds a possessive suffix, making the reference to Jesus's body more explicit and personal, a characteristic Syriac stylistic feature in narrative.
