Greek uses a perfect middle participle ὑποδεδεμένους ('having shod themselves'), continuing the syntax of the preceding clause; the Peshitta ܢܣܐܢܘܢ and the Vulgate participle calceatos shift to a finite/imperatival sense ('let them be shod'). The versions construe the command as a third-person jussive whereas the Greek retains an attributive participial form.

The Greek prohibition μή is a discrete negative particle, while the Syriac fuses the conjunction and negation in ܘܠܐ ('and not'), so the same waw-token carries both the connective and the negator. The Vulgate ne preserves the separate negative as in Greek.

Greek ἐνδύσησθε is a second-person plural aorist subjunctive ('that you may put on'), but both the Peshitta ܢܠܒܫܘܢ and the Vulgate induerentur render the verb in the third person, reflecting an indirect-discourse construction reporting Jesus' charge rather than direct address.
