The Syriac fuses the conjunction and verb into a single token, so the connective 'and' is not lexically separable here.

Greek employs a genitive absolute (ὀψίας γενομένης, 'evening having come') and Latin a temporal cum-clause (cum sero esset factum); the Syriac compresses the entire temporal construction into a single prepositional noun ܒܪܡܫܐ ('at evening'), eliminating any explicit verb of becoming. This reflects Syriac's preference for nominal temporal adjuncts over participial circumstantial clauses.

Greek διέλθωμεν and Latin Transeamus are bare first-person plural hortatory subjunctives ('let us cross over'); the Syriac ܢܥܒܪ ܠܢ adds an ethical dative ܠܢ ('for ourselves'), a common Aramaic idiom (dativus commodi) that heightens the cohortative nuance without altering the propositional content.

Greek expresses the destination with a prepositional phrase εἰς τὸ πέραν ('to the other side') using a substantivised adverb; the Syriac ܠܥܒܪܐ (from root ʿ-b-r, 'to cross') is a cognate-derived noun with proclitic lamadh. The Latin contra ('to the opposite [shore]') is a freer adverbial rendering that omits an explicit article or noun for 'side', the most divergent of the three lexically.
