Greek ἐμβῆναι εἰς τὸ πλοῖον ('to embark into the boat') and the Syriac ܕܢܣܩܘܢ ('that they should go up/board') use a complementary subordinate verb of motion, while the Vulgate ascendere navim drops the preposition and takes the boat as a direct object; the Syriac additionally shifts from infinitive to a finite imperfect with a subjunctival prefix.

Greek καὶ προάγειν ('and to go before') is a coordinated infinitive; the Vulgate recasts it as a purpose clause ut præcederent eum ('that they might precede him'), supplying the object eum; Syriac ܘܢܐܙܠܘܢ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ('and that they should go before him') likewise adds the explicit pronominal object 'him' absent in the Greek.

The Greek present indicative ἀπολύει ('he dismisses') stands in a temporal clause where both the Vulgate dimitteret (imperfect subjunctive) and the Syriac ܫܪܐ (perfect/general) adjust the verbal aspect to fit their respective temporal-clause syntax; the difference is purely grammatical.
