Greek κρατεῖτε and Latin tenetis are simple present finite verbs, whereas the Peshitta renders the idea periphrastically with an active participle plus the enclitic pronoun (ܘܐܚܝܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ, 'you are holding'), a characteristic Syriac durative construction. The added pronoun ܐܢܬܘܢ functions as a grammatical subject marker rather than fresh semantic content.

Greek τῶν ἀνθρώπων and Latin hominum render a simple genitive plural ('of men'), while the Peshitta uses the Semitic construct phrase ܕܒܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ ('of the sons of men'), the standard Syriac idiom for humankind. The divergence is idiomatic rather than substantive.

Greek lists ξεστῶν ('pitchers/measures') first and ποτηρίων ('cups') second; the Vulgate follows the same order (urceorum ... calicum), but the Peshitta inverts the pair, placing cups (ܕܟܣܐ) before pots (ܘܕܩܣܛܐ). The Syriac ܩܣܛܐ is a loanword reflecting Latin/Greek sextarius/ξέστης.

The conjunction καί / ܘ / et links the two vessel-nouns, but its placement differs because the Peshitta has reversed the order of cups and pots, so the connective binds the inverted pair.

ποτηρίων ('of cups') stands in second position in Greek and Latin (calicum) but is fronted in the Syriac (ܕܟܣܐ), reflecting the local reordering of the two vessel terms.

Greek piles four words (ἄλλα παρόμοια τοιαῦτα πολλά, 'many other such like things'), with πολλά placed at the end after the verb in Latin (alia similia his ... multa); the Peshitta compresses this into ܘܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܗܠܝܢ ܕܡܝܢ ('and many things which resemble these'), using a relative clause rather than the Greek demonstrative-adjective string. The Vulgate's his and the Syriac ܕܠܗܠܝܢ both supply a demonstrative referent absent as a separate word in Greek.
