Greek uses the articulated plural ἐπὶ τοῖς λόγοις ('at the words') and Latin matches with in verbis; the Syriac ܡܠܘܗܝ is also plural with possessive suffix but compresses the prepositional phrase, absorbing the pronoun 'his' that Greek and Latin express separately.

The Greek possessive pronoun αὐτοῦ ('of him') stands as a discrete genitive token; both the Syriac (via the pronominal suffix on ܡܠܘܗܝ) and the Latin (ejus) carry this notion elsewhere, here grouped with the preceding noun-phrase, hence the Greek pronoun has no independent counterpart token.

Greek combines participle ἀποκριθεὶς with the present λέγει ('answering, he says'); Latin keeps the parallel respondens ait, but Syriac collapses the pair into a single coordinated finite verb ܘܐܡܪ ('and said'), the answering notion already carried by ܘܥܢܐ above.

Greek vocative τέκνα ('children') is rendered by the Syriac ܒܢܝ ('my children/sons,' from b-n-a) and by the Latin affectionate diminutive Filioli ('little children'); the Latin diminutive adds a tenderness not lexically present in the Greek neuter plural.

Greek δύσκολόν ἐστιν and Latin difficile est supply an explicit copula ('it is difficult'); Syriac ܥܛܠܐ stands as a predicate adjective with the copula understood, a normal Syriac nominal-sentence construction omitting the verb 'to be.'

Greek uses the substantivised perfect participle τοὺς πεποιθότας ('those who have trusted') and Latin a bare participle confidentes; the Syriac employs a relative construction ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܬܟܝܠܝܢ ('those who are trusting'), making the relative clause explicit where the Latin leaves it participial.

Greek ἐπὶ τοῖς χρήμασιν ('upon riches') and Latin in pecuniis ('in money') differ slightly in nuance; the Syriac ܢܟܣܝܗܘܢ ('their possessions/wealth') carries a possessive suffix not present in the Greek or Latin, sharpening the focus to the rich man's own goods.

Greek εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν and Latin in regnum use a preposition plus accusative; the Syriac fuses the directional preposition, the noun, and the possessive into the single inflected form ܠܡܠܟܘܬܗ ('into his kingdom'), the suffix anticipating the following genitive 'of God.'

Greek uses the aorist infinitive εἰσελθεῖν ('to enter') and Latin the present infinitive introire, both governed by the predicate of difficulty; the Syriac renders this with a finite subjunctive clause ܕܢܥܠܘܢ ('that they should enter'), the customary Syriac substitute for the Greek complementary infinitive, and the Latin closes with an exclamatory '!'
