Greek uses an aorist participle with article and possessive (ἀποβαλὼν τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ); the Latin renders it with an ablative absolute (projecto vestimento suo); the Syriac uses a finite verb ܫܕܐ with the suffixed possessive ܠܒܫܗ, expressing the same act of casting off the garment through three distinct syntactic strategies.

Greek ἀναπηδήσας ('having sprung up') and Latin exiliens preserve the vivid leaping motion; the Syriac ܘܩܡ ('and arose') flattens the imagery to a simpler verb of rising, losing the connotation of an energetic jump.

Greek and Syriac name the object explicitly (πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν / ܠܘܬ ܝܫܘܥ, 'to Jesus'); the Vulgate substitutes the pronoun ad eum ('to him'), reflecting a variant or stylistic preference to avoid repeating the proper name.
