Greek and Latin open with the simple paratactic conjunction (καὶ / Et) governing the plural verb 'they come'; Syriac ܘܥܠ fuses the conjunction with the singular verb 'and he entered', recasting the whole opening clause around Jesus alone rather than the disciple group.

The plural present 'they come' (ἔρχονται / veniunt), describing the arrival of Jesus with his disciples at Jerusalem, is not separately rendered in the Peshitta, which collapses the journey and the entry into a single singular verb of entering.

The toponym 'into Jerusalem' (εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα / in Jerosolymam) is absent in the Peshitta of this verse, which moves directly to the temple; the Syriac thereby loses the geographic staging of arrival in the city present in both the Greek and Latin.

Greek and Latin read simply 'having entered the temple' (εἰσελθὼν...εἰς τὸ ἱερόν / cum introisset in templum); the Peshitta expands ܠܗܝܟܠܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ('into the temple of God'), an interpretive amplification clarifying the sacred precinct, and supplies the explicit subject ܝܫܘܥ ('Jesus').

Greek substantivises the participle with the article (τοὺς πωλοῦντας, 'those selling') and Latin uses the bare participle vendentes; Syriac renders ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܙܒܢܝܢ ('those who sell'), a double-headed relative construction with the demonstrative ܐܝܠܝܢ plus relative ܕ.

Greek ἀγοράζοντας and Latin ementes denote 'those buying'; the Syriac uses ܘܡܙܒܢܝܢ from the same root z-b-n as the preceding 'sellers', so that both parties are expressed by one ambivalent root which can mean either buying or selling, a lexical economy peculiar to Syriac.

The Greek and Latin coordinate the temple-clause and the following 'tables' with καὶ / et; the Syriac instead introduces the overturning action here with ܘܗܦܟ, restructuring the clause boundary so that the conjunction is absorbed into the new verb.

Greek and Latin place the main verb 'overturned' (κατέστρεψεν / evertit) at the very end of the verse after both objects; the Syriac ܘܗܦܟ fronts it before the objects, a typical Syriac VSO tendency, and uses a verb meaning 'turned/overthrew' equivalent in sense.

Greek κολλυβιστῶν and Latin numulariorum specify 'money-changers'; the Syriac ܕܡܥܪܦܢܐ renders the same agent-noun (from a root for changing/exchanging), an exact functional equivalent though from an unrelated lexical stock.

Greek uses an articular participle in the genitive (τῶν πωλούντων, 'of those selling') and Latin the genitive participle vendentium; the Syriac again resorts to the demonstrative-relative ܕܗܢܘܢ ܕܡܙܒܢܝܢ ('of those who sell'), the same periphrastic relative pattern used earlier.

The Clementine Vulgate closes the verse with a colon, marking the continuation into the following sentence about Jesus' teaching; this editorial punctuation has no counterpart in the unpointed Greek or Syriac word-stream and reflects later Latin sense-division.
