The conjunction is here fused with the following noun in Syriac: ܘܢܘܪܗܘܢ carries the proclitic waw ('and'), the noun 'fire', and the 3mp suffix 'their'. Greek καί and Latin et stand as discrete conjunctions, and notably neither the Greek nor the Latin attaches a possessive to 'fire' (τὸ πῦρ / ignis, 'the fire'), whereas the Peshitta reads 'their fire' in parallel with 'their worm'.

Greek marks the noun with the neuter article τὸ πῦρ; Latin ignis and the Syriac noun (subsumed in ܘܢܘܪܗܘܢ) are anarthrous. The article is a syntactic feature of Greek with no formal equivalent required in Latin or Syriac, so the difference is purely grammatical.
